Music: Savin' Me

Nickleback - Savin' Me

I Give In

Most people like to keep their blog private and not let anyone know who they are. I think it should not be like this.

I have been debating this for a long time, and I came to the conclusion that I should post pictures of myself.

Why read a blog of someone you don't know or don't even know what he looks like?!

I therefore put together a little album with pictures of myself, and a couple of of my friends, so that next time you come to my blog you can say "oh, he wrote it".

Here it is, enjoy.

Music Video: Comfortably Numb

For those that enjoyed the Music Video "The Wall", I believe you will enjoy this even more.

"Another Brick in the Wall" is no doubt an awesome song from the wall, but I loved Comfortably Numb". You must have heard it already from the album, but if you didn't take much notice of it then, here is a chance to appreciate it.

Listen out for the guitar solo that starts in the fifth minute and peaks at around seven.

Enjoy!

News: Dedication

BEIJING (Reuters) - A Beijing soccer fan refused to let the small matter of his house burning down disturb his enjoyment of Tuesday's World Cup match between France and Spain.

A fire broke out in a hutong in the center of the Chinese capital at 3am local time Wednesday -- kickoff time in Hanover -- and gutted the traditional courtyard dwelling, the Beijing Daily Messenger reported.

"When the neighbors shouted 'fire!', I took my little baby and ran out in my nightclothes," the man's wife told the paper.

"My husband paid no attention to the danger, just grabbed the television and put it under his arm.

"After getting out of the house, he then set about finding an electric socket to plug in and continue watching his game."

The anti-social timing of the matches broadcast from Germany, which is six hours behind China, has forced some Chinese fans to go to great lengths to follow the action.

One man quit his job in Beijing to return to his hometown Chongqing so he could watch the whole tournament uninterrupted.

State news agency Xinhua reported that the 23-year-old's boss at the IT company had offered him a pay rise, but he turned it down flat, saying the World Cup was more important than his job.

The Guangzhou Daily reported that local police were forced to release a thief arrested for stealing a mobile phone when the victim refused to press charges because he did not want to miss the start of a match.

Although there are also many female World Cup fans in China, one man in the southeastern city had to sign a contract with his wife agreeing to do all the housework during the month of the finals so he could watch the matches at night.

Another from Putian, Fujian province, took a less diplomatic approach, Xinhua reported.

When his cheers during the Argentina-Ivory Coast match woke his wife and she switched off the television, he locked her in their bedroom and settled back down to watch the game ignoring her loud protests.

News: Funny

PHILADELPHIA -- Comcast has fired an employee for sleeping on a customer's couch during a house call after video of the incident became a minor Internet sensation.

The Philadelphia-based cable company also says it has apologized to the customer in Washington for the "unsatisfactory customer experience."

The customer, Georgetown University law student Brian Finkelstein, said the technician needed to phone company headquarters for help but was put on hold for more than an hour and fell asleep.

He posted video of the sleeping technician on YouTube.com, a site that lets users share videos. He added an Eels song with the lyrics, "I need some sleep."

The 58-second video has been viewed more than 227,000 times since it was posted Tuesday.

A Comcast technician came to replace a faulty modem. After spending an hour on hold with Comcast's central office, he fell asleep on my couch. I've been in my apartment for three weeks and my internet connection is still non-functional. This is my tribute to Comcast, their low quality technology and their poor customer service.

UPDATE: My service has been restored. A Comcast team spent five hours to get everything up and running. Thanks for all your advice.

All I have to say to those of you that think Beckham is playing shitty is that he scored this one in a time that we needed him, and gave us the game for the quarter finals. That's all we need from him.

Keep it strong, and play well!

--Post Update 2!--

Well, when one door closes another one opens up right in front of you. When trying to figure out why this thing doesn't work I bumped into something even better!

Radioblogclub.com allows you to search for songs in a massive database and place them into you blog!

Here is an example:

Check it out, it has a lot of stuff.

--Post Update 3!!--

Ok, it works now! For instructions and comments on how to do it click here.

The reason why it did not work in the begining is because you need to have a template from Blogger Templates, and it needs to be an updated one.

Takes time to figure out stuff, but it works!

The Wizard of Floyd

The Story:

When the album Dark Side of the Moon is played simultaneously with the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, images from the film occasionally appear to synchronise with the music and lyrics. This effect has been nicknamed "Dark Side of the Rainbow" or "Dark Side of Oz" by fans. It is said that the album can be replayed almost three times during the course of the movie, with new synchronicities at each repeat. Band members (particularly David Gilmour) have repeatedly denied that the album was intentionally made to synchronise with The Wizard of Oz in this way. From a technical standpoint, when the album was recorded in 1972, this would have been extremely difficult using the equipment available. However, many of those who have seen it report that the synchronicity is striking.

Support For This Theory:

+ The lyric 'Balanced on the biggest wave' coincides with Dorothy's balancing act on the fence

+ 'On the Run' starts as Dorothy falls off the fence

+ Chimes and Bells start ringing as the Wicked Witch appears riding her bicycle.

+ During the 'Time' guitar solo, the fortune teller's sign is shown with the words "Past Present and Future"

The Great Gig in the Sky has many incidents:

- The tornado is shown in the background as the words 'I'm am not frightened of dying' are said.

- The drums start right as the wind really picks up and blows the trees from their roots.

- The singer calms down right as Dorothy is knocked unconsious by the window
'Great Gig in the Sky' is still playing as the house flies in the tornado
Side 1 of the album (vinyl) is exactly as long as the black & white portion of the film.

- The cash register in Money is heard right as color is seen in Oz (money = color)

Incidents in 'Us and Them':

- The ballerinas enter on 'Us, us, us, us'

- One ballerina seems to lip sync 'ordinary men'

- Three men enter on 'Me, me, me'

- One kid's jerking motions are in sync with the music

-'Forward he cried' is sung as Dorothy looks turns to face forward

- The Wicked Witch appears on 'Black, black'

- On 'Blue, blue, blue,' the camera switches to Dorothy (in her blue dress)

- 'And who knows which is which and who is who' is sung right when the Wicked Witch of the West looks at the recently killed Wicked Witch of the East. Note the play on words "Which is Which" vs "Witch is Witch"

- The Witch is up a the platform on 'Up, up' and then walks down on 'Down, down, down'

- As 'And in the End' is sung, the Wicked Witch of the East disappears
On 'Out, out, out,' the good Witch of the North leaves

And...

+ 'Brain Damage' plays as the Scarecrow sings 'If I Only Had a Brain'

+ Heartbeat heard at the end of the album is heard as Dorothy listens at the Tin Man's chest

Other Effects of Smoking

You have probably seen this one already, but if you haven't...

Oldest Prank Video

This is probably the oldest prank video I remember to be braodcasted on the internet. I am not saying it is the first, only it's one of the first that I remember. It does not cease to entertain me!

Ronadinho

Not complaining, but why couldn't they d this against Australia?!

I did want to say "well done" to Australia, I guess i'll say it here.

You guys have only to draw the next game to make it through the first round. Not bad at all for your first World Cup since 1972.

And, I love you bro-in-law, your country deserves some respect. I would hate to see Australia knocked out after such quality playing against Brazil.

My only advice to you guys is to play football like football and not like rugby. When the ref makes a call, don't go and attack him with rugby spirit. It will only get you a yellow and a chance to not play in the next game. Be smart and chill.

Otherwise, hope to see you in the final (where we will have to break your heart. Sorry).

Radio Stations: Update

I have not managed to put many radio stations directly onto the blog, however I did manage something else.

You will notice that there are links in the Radio Stations section. These links are for those stations I could not put on the blog, and are links that will open up the radio station in Windows Media Player. Second resort but just as good.

You can also play all of the radio stations in Windows Media Player by clicking the links above them.

Music, Music, Music. Enjoy!

--Post Update--

Please check out "Radio IO 70s" and tell me if it works on your computer. I worked hard on it, but if it works it is worth it.

Flash Fight

Watch this entertaining flash clip, I promise you enjoy it.

Oh So Trippy

I will understand if you would like me to remove this!

Stainless Paint

This is definitely new technology for kids to paint and not get their cloths dirty.

Mind you, Persil may have a problem and attempt to sue, there will be no need for the "clean kids cloths" because they won't be dirty no more. All the money they have spent on splash paint advertising will have gone for nothing!

On another note, this is for adults too.

The only reason why we don't sit on the floor and splash paint on an empty coarse A3 sheet of recycled paper is because a) we don't want to get dirty (because only we would have to clean it up and not Mommy) and b) because we embarrassed from the public.

I therefore propose the perfect solution. Click on the thumbnail above, and you will be able to do all the splash painting you have been deprived of since you were a kid, and it's from the privacy of your own computer room!

Hint: click the mouse button to change colours.

Enjoy!

Oh, and the one above is one of my own creations!

Diet Coke and Mentos

You should not mix milk and meat, so as you should also not mix Mentos and Diet Coke!

This is what will happen if you do, you will cause a reaction that will create an explosion of the coke of up to five meteres high.

Here is one example of someone who did this experiment with a small hole allowing it to go even higher.

Backyard experiment showing the reaction between Mentos Candy and Diet Coke. We drilled a hole in the cap of the Diet Coke to increase the ... all » pressure forced through the opening. The trick was to get the Mentos in the bottle and the cap back on.

This would be the reaction if you were to do it without putting the cap back on.

Highest shooting Diet Coke Mentos bomb I've ever seen.

I haven't tried it yet, but as soon as I get my hands on some Mentos and Coke you can be sure that I will.

Let me know if you have tried it.

More Good News!

Jew in London presents you with an all new section on the right hand side!

The new section is titled "Radio Stations" and will contain a variety of different radio stations (ironic)!

As of now I have only managed to put Shamis Radio on the list, but I will be working on many others including Virgin and other rock stations.

Shamis Radio is a fantastic online radio station for solely jewish music. If you like jewish music you will love Shamis Radio.

If you have any requests I would be glad to work on them, but I cannot make any promises. Shamis Radio was the only one that I was able to put on and not for no good reason. It is difficult, but I do promise that I will try.

Be well, and enjoy!

P.S. You may need to have Windows Media Player version 9.0 or above to be able to use this service.

Google's Music Videos!

It just gets better and better! With the my recent introduction to music videos of music legends, I feel that I have the obligation to share the good ones with you.

I have alot of my own stuff that I would love to upload, but the truth is that when I searched forthem on Google Video a lot of them came up!

But I do have a lot, and will hopefully get you some of the best music video and concerts of all time.

Here is a good video of Stevie Ray Vaughan. You see can see music played to its ultimate feel.

SRV's performance of Texas Flood at the El Mocambo, 1983 .

Talking of guitarists, I am sure you have heard of these guys, but if you haven't then let me introduce them to you know.

Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, and Billy Sheehan are the more modern guitarist legends. You might not have heard of Billy Sheehan and John Petrucci, but Joe Satriani and Steve Vai they are up there.

Say no more, here they are. (Quality is not so good but i'll get you some better ones when I upload my own).

Guitarists Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, and bassist Billy Sheehan cover ZZ Top's La Grange. G3 live.

And just to finish off with some Pink Floyd!

I have the full version of this Live in Pompei production by Pink Flyod. It is by far the best video that I have seen of Pink Floyd yet. You really get to see the what they are all about and how there music is produced. I will try get it up.

Oh and yes, do watch the full eleven minutes!

Welcome Jimi!

I have just been introduced to loads of video clips of Jimi Hendrix!

Some I have seen before but others are a first and are awesome. Here is just one of them, and if I remember I will post more from time to time.

Thanx for that mysterious "rb".

Shout Out To The Players

I would like to start out by thanking Ericsson (who i've been pointed out today he looks like Mr Burns!) for making the move to bring both Rooney and the legendary kid Lennon, who played amazingly, who brought England up to speed on what Football is about.

Well done Crouch on that lanky header of yours, usually 3rd time lucky but in your case 4th. Good attempts throughout the game and I would have been upset if you would have gone off with nothing. Beckham, it was your wonderful pass that made it possible, but a) you let us down alot today and b) you needed a finisher.

Terry we love you! Not just the once did you save the ball when Robinsohn was taking a stroll, you gave us great pleassure. Where Lampard messed up you made up for it by brilliant defending.

And finally Gerrard, unbelievable, you had us all off our seats and cheering. Left foot right into the side of the net in the 90th minute! Couldn't have done better. I am sure Ericsson has praised you immensly back at the locker room.

One thing though, England you gotta start playing at minute number 1, not at 75. You may have been able to hold off Trinidad (barely), but you have better competition out there so buckle up.

We got our 6 points which will be plenty to qualify, and thats the main thing. Can't wait for England Vs. Sweden, I am hoping for some nice plays in this stress free game.

Keep it up guys.

Bye Bye Poland

Dear Poland,

I only had some hopes for you (making it past the first round) because I have a couple of Polish friends and was blinded temporarily.

I don't really have much to say to you Poland, only next time just don't place your hopes too high, you will only get harm yourselves. You may go into deep depression, resulting in non desires to drink - utter devistation.

I understand that you feel like you want to compete with us English, but sometimes you just have to accept and move on, dig the whole and bury it.

My advice to you would be to just enjoy England Vs Brazil and reconsider watching Poland play at all.

The truth is, you may find some competition over the Atlantic where our american friends are finding it very hard to keep up.

Well, I love you anyway, but you might just want to consider Croquet in the next world championship.

Regards,

The one who actullay considered you.

Beware of the Grandbagger

I couldn't figure out if this is genuine or not. It does seem a bit far fetched, but if it true...LOL.

True Legends of Sport

Twenty minutes of growing ups, skills, techniques, goals and fouls by two of the most legendary football players equals twenty minutes of pure exhilaration.

Stay Off the Doobie

I love Family Guy! It is a bit of a remake of the Simpsons as a lot of the ideas and jokes are copied, but the characters are just too good. My favorite is Stewie.

NOw if you haven't already wathced the Family Guy and are not familiar with Stewie, here is a short run down before you get watching. Stewie is a todler in diapers who has the mond of an adult. He talks in a strong british accent and is out to kill his mother - evil. With that here is an introduction:

Empirical & Hypothesis Testing is Out of Fashion

TALLAHASSEE, FL—Only months after abandoning a tenured position at Lehigh University, maverick chemist Theodore Hapner managed to disprove two of the three laws of thermodynamics and show that gold is a noxious gas, turning the world of science—defined for centuries by exhaustive research, painstaking observation, and hard-won theories—completely on its head.

The brash chemist, who conducts independent research from his houseboat, has infuriated peers by refusing to "play by the rules of Socrates, Bacon, and Galileo," calling test results as he sees them, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

"If you're looking for some button-down traditionalist who relies on so-called induction, conventional logic, and verification to arrive at what the scientific community calls 'proof,' then I'm afraid you've got the wrong guy," said the intrepid 44-year-old rebel, who last month unveiled a revolutionary new model of atomic structure that contradicted 300 years of precedent. "But if you want your results fast and with some flair, then come with me and I'll prove that the boiling point of water is actually 547 degrees Fahrenheit."

Armed with only with a Bunsen burner, a modest supply of chemical compounds, and a balance scale—the last of which Hapner has "yet to find any good reason to use"—this controversial nonconformist defies every standard definition of what a scientist should be. From his tendency to round off calculations, to his rejection of controlled experiments, Hapner is determined to avoid becoming "one of those cowardly sheep who slavishly kowtows to a tired old methodology."

"I'm sure my opponents would love to see me throw in the towel and start using empirical evidence to back every one of my theories," Hapner said. "They'd have a better chance convincing me that metals, like copper, are naturally strong conductors of electricity."

Shrugging off criticism as "self-limiting," Hapner says he plans to proceed with his study on the water-purifying properties of hydrocyanic acid.

"What my hopelessly pedantic colleagues fail to realize is that their scientific method is just that—their method," said Hapner, whose self-published 2004 thesis argued that matter exists in four states: solid, liquid, gas, and powder. "After all, would a chemist who closely observes a phenomenon, formulates a hypothesis, predicts a likely outcome, and then tests the hypothesis be capable of proving that photons, far from being subatomic particles, are actually the size of a child's fist?"

While his peers employ meticulous testing and protracted deliberation, Hapner often refuses to formulate a hypothesis until midway through an experiment. "Anyone who tells you that chemistry is an exact science is overthinking it," he said.

"Yesterday alone I solved Kauzmann's Paradox, improved Hund's Rule Of Maximum Multiplicity, and disproved what is known as the 'cage effect' of a molecule," Hapner added. "All without having to rinse out the one beaker I was using."

Had he used the outmoded scientific method, Hapner said, few of the scientific advancements he has made would have been either achieved or remotely interesting.

Despite his innumerable achievements, Hapner faces many experts who remain skeptical and have even declared his findings corrupt, irrational, irresponsible, and unscientific.

"It's true that I've been condemned and ridiculed by the world's most prominent chemists, as well as by a good number of amateur hobbyists," Hapner said as he rubbed a balloon on his head to demonstrate a basic principle of hydrodynamics. "But then, wasn't Einstein ridiculed when he unveiled his theory of relativity, or Copernicus when he posited that the Earth revolved around the sun? True, I have since proved them both wrong, but at least they took risks."

Hapner is undoubtedly taking a great risk with his latest study, but the maverick scientist is confident his work will pay off.

"Bombarding a plutonium nucleus with accelerated electrons, long believed to produce a nuclear fission reaction, has, in fact, no consequence at all," Hapner said. "I'm going to prove that if it's the last thing I ever do."

What to Do This Summer

I have always been looking for the perfect website that gives you all the exciting entertainment for a good day out.

I eventually came accross this website that definately fulfills exactly this.
Experience Mad is a website offering activities from Lamboughini driving to day spas. all in the UK. You can also choose to go parachuting, skydiving, 4X4 off roading, horse riding, sailing, fly a helicopter and much more.

As you have probably guessed by now, it's gonna cost you a penny or two. But, where can you go and have a good time nowdays without spending a bit of money? (The answer is nowhere btw). It's the summer, make sure you make the most of it. Put some money aside and have a good time.

Personally I think I will choose something like a couple of hours out on ATV's (quad bikes) through the marshes, hills and a lot of mud. I think I would also enjoy a day out on a powerboat, they must be amazing.

Hope you find something you would enjoy and go out and do it. Think about it, the money you were going to save for when you will turn 55 won't be nearly as exciting to spend then.

thanks for the music posts. do you know of any websites that have loads, like hundreds, of them...

some unsolicited and subjective critisism: the radio station automatically launch on you blog and its a bit overwhelming! maybe its cause i use firefox? i dunno
  • Blogger Pesach on 5:54 pm
hmm, it doesn't automatically play on mine, but which one? All of them, one of them, the one that i just posted recently?
  • Blogger Pesach on 5:55 pm
I'll leave the links on and remove the players, they are just as good as they will start up in media player.
  • Blogger Pesach on 6:00 pm
Sorry, forgot about you first question. www.radioblogclub.com has tonns of music that you can listen to and embed, you cannot however download them (what i mean is that i haven't yet figured out a way ;)).

I didn't really look too far in it but it seems to have loads.
